Singing
My professional singing career began when I was an undergraduate at Oxford, followed by a year singing with Clare College Chapel Choir, Cambridge. Among the many solo roles I've performed include Handel oratorios, Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, a variety of Requiems (Brahms, Duruflé , Fauré, Chilcott and Mozart), and the Bach Passions and B Minor Mass.
For over a decade, I have been one of the two regular sopranos at the Grosvenor Chapel, Mayfair, and I am a regular deputy at All Saints Margaret Street and the Temple Singers at Temple Church. I am a member of Illuminare, the London Choral Sinfonia and the Holst Singers, and have sung with the Consort of St Paul's Cathedral, Polyphony, the Buon Tempi Consort, Philharmonia Voices and many others.
My versatility is reflected in the range of other engagements I've undertaken. Among my favourites have been singing solo and chorus parts in the world première of Sir John Tavener’s all-night vigil The Veil of the Temple (in London in 2003 - and reprised in Trondheim, Norway, in 2015), appearing as a singing nun in all seven series (to date!) of the BBC’s Call the Midwife, and performing with influential electronic musician Aphex Twin, and on a silent film score with Imogen Heap.
I am also a choir fixer, with a list of around 300 professional singers on whom I can call for a range of engagements, according to your requirements (carols, weddings, etc. - photo below!).
Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you need a soprano, or if I can book you a larger group of excellent and versatile singers.
